Head Coach JT Crews
Coach Crews brings a wealth of experience to the Cavaliers from his tenure at E.C. Glass High School, where he served as the Offensive Coordinator under Head Coach Jeff Woody. Joining Woody’s staff in July 2018, Crews held a variety of roles, including coaching Quarterbacks and the Offensive Line, and also served as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. His diverse coaching background at E.C. Glass underscores his versatility and deep understanding of the game.
Before his time at E.C. Glass, Coach Crews gained valuable experience in the college ranks from 2012 to 2018. He served as an Assistant Coach at both Christopher Newport University and North Carolina Wesleyan College. During his college coaching career, Crews worked on both sides of the ball and held various position coaching roles, covering nearly every position on the field, as well as serving as the Recruiting Coordinator at North Carolina Wesleyan College. This extensive experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of football strategy and player development.
Coach Crews is a Lynchburg native, having graduated from Brookville High School in 2008. At Brookville, he earned All-District and All-Region honors as an offensive lineman. He continued his football career at Christopher Newport University (CNU) from 2008 to 2011, where he was recognized as an All-Conference and All-State player. Additionally, Crews was honored as a member of the USA South Conference's 50th Anniversary Team, highlighting his standout performance and impact on the field during his college career.
Coach Crews enters his 4th season as the Head Coach of the Cavaliers with a track record of impressive progress. Taking over in 2021, he has transformed the team into strong contenders for the Seminole District Championship. After a challenging 1-8 debut season, Crews led the Cavaliers to a 4-7 record in 2022 and an outstanding 10-2 performance in 2023. Though they fell short in a close contest for the Seminole District title, Crews was honored as the 2023 Seminole District Coach of the Year.
Crews has consistently built his program on the foundation of disciplined defense and a versatile, high-powered offense. His emphasis on physicality, strategic adaptability, and player development has been key to the team's success and growth.
